Chennai: In the wake of increasing violence in colleges, the University of Madras has decided to conduct special counselling sessions through the National Service Scheme. According to university vicechancellor S Ramachandran, usually only health camps, blood donation camps and the like are organised by NSS. However, the university plans to involve the NSS coordinators to counsel students about the need for tolerance and shunning violence. "Even parents will be invited as students do not act in isolation, but are influenced by several factors including the ambience at home, socio-economic reasons and son on. We will shortly discuss the modalities for this," he said. TNN
