School conducts 'Varuna Yagam'

TIRUPATI: After the State government officially conducted Varuna Yagam seeking a semblance of respite to the drought-hit State, followed by various private religious and non-religious institutions, it was the turn of Sree Vidyaniketan Educational Trust to take up the job of propitiating the rain god.
Concern expressed

Film actor and chairman of the educational group M. Mohan Babu presided over the ceremony and expressed concern over the plight of the State's farming community due to the deficit rainfall. He also hailed the relief measures initiated by the government to protect the interests of the dwellers of the countryside, whose mainstay was farming. He said he prayed to the Lord to shower copious rainfall on the entire country.

Former TTD chairman and PCC general secretary B. Karunakar Reddy, TUDA chairman Ch. Bhaskar Reddy, magician Jadugar Anand were among those who took part in the event.
