HMT training facility in Myanmar

HMT (International) Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of HMT Ltd., has bagged a Rs.14.75-crore contract for implementing the Indo-Myanmar Industrial Training Centre project at Pakokku in Myanmar.

The centre, being sponsored by the Union Ministry of External Affairs, is being set up to develop adequate skilled industrial manpower in Myanmar.

The agreement in this regard was signed in New Delhi by External Affairs Joint Secretary T.S. Tirumurti and HMT (International) Chairman A.V. Kamat. The company will undertake the supply of a variety of machines and allied and pedagogic equipment needed for imparting training in nine technical trades.

Experts from the company will install and commission the equipment, a press release said.

Instructors from Myanmar will also get trained in the country in technical and management areas. The project is scheduled for completion in 15 months.
