New campus for IIITMK by 2011

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The first phase of the new campus of the Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management-Kerala (IIITMK) at the Technopark will be completed by 2011.

The approximately 3,500 sq m building will have state-of-the-art computer labs, classrooms, library and conference halls.

According to a press note issued by the institute, it will also offer programmes in Computer Science, Ecological Informatics, e-governance, and other domain-specific programmes.

Since 2001, IIITMK has been promoting a Web-based e-learning education system and Technology Enhanced Learning and Teaching (TELT).

Recently, the institute launched a one-year full-time Post Graduate Diploma in eGovernance (PGDeG) in association with the Institute of Management in Government (IMG) to produce trained professionals to implement and manage e-governance projects in a disciplined manner.

There are 45 seats for the programme of which 15 are reserved for officials of the State government.
