Teacher transfer orders 'sold' at photocopying centre?

ADILABAD: A fresh controversy on the teacher transfers issue surfaced on Wednesday as transfer orders of teachers were allegedly 'sold' at a photocopying centre located near the office of the District Educational Officer here.

As many as 150 transfer orders of school assistants, who had been shifted during the recent counselling, were estimated to have been issued through the centre in question before the administration swung into action and seized the remaining 'copies'. It was believed that some teachers had already been relieved from their present posts and had joined the new schools based on the copy of the transfer they purchased at the photocopying centre. Allegations of irregularities had surfaced when the process was on. The process had been stopped on the orders of the APAT. The issue of orders to began on Tuesday despite the APAT ordering to keep such a move in abeyance.
