Selection Process

The admission process starts in the month of May, or as soon as the results of Plus 2 is announced. The application forms will be issued to the applicants from the date of publication of the results of the qualifying examinations. The issue of forms usually lasts for 10 days unless otherwise notified or specially permitted by the University. In case the tenth day happens to be public holiday the issue of forms will be closed on the next working day.
The rank list is published on the fifth day after the last day of receipt of applications. The admissions are carried out before the tenth day of the publication of the rank list.

QUOTAS

The college shall publish the Merit List on the date of publication of results.
The Rank list shall be published quota-wise based on Merit. The quotas followed presently are
SC : 8 %
ST : 2 %
LC : 2 %
Ezhava : 9 %
Muslim : 8 %
OBH : 5 %

MERIT LIST
The Rank Mark is arrived at in the following way.
Index Mark less Handicap Marks plus Weightage Marks plus Bonus Marks if any.

Index Marks
The marks obtained for each subject is to be converted as the case may be and index mark is to be arrived accordingly (Total 500) for BBA and 600 for BCOM.

Handicap Marks
A Handicap of 5 marks for every successive attempt after the first attempt subject to a maximum of 20 marks out of the Index marks will be imposed on those who have taken two or more chances to complete the qualifying examination.
The number of chances means the number of chances taken for passing any part of the qualifying examination after the prescribed course period.
No handicap marks for 'SAY' pass outs be imposed if admitted in the same academic year.

Bonus Marks
Ten marks to applicants who have passed the qualifying examination after undergoing the whole prescribed course of study in the same institution in which they seek admission to PG courses.
Bonus of 15 marks for Degree shall be awarded for NCC and NSS candidates for admission to all courses.
An additional Bonus mark of 3 will be given to 'A' Certificate holders, 5 to 'B' and 'C' certificate holders.
Bonus of 15 marks shall be added to the Ex-servicemen and widows and children of jawans and ex-servicemen.
The benefit of Bonus marks can be scored by a candidate only under one category i.e., either NSS or NCC.
Bonus marks cannot be used to decide minimum eligibility.

Weightage Marks
Students applying for BCom course would get a weightage of 25 marks in each of the three subjects of commerce combination, as explained in the eligibility criteria, subject to a maximum of 75 marks
