Top varsities evince interest in JNTU-K

Kakinada: The JNTU-K is in an upbeat mood with some of the world's top universities coming forward to forge tie-ups with it to impart technological education of the highest standards. A few foreign universities evinced interest in sending their students for academic pursuits at the JNTU-K and to offer similar facilities to students from these parts of India. This is set to fructify from this academic year itself and the varsity authorities are bracing themselves for the task.

The JNTU-K's Director of Institute of Science and Technology B Prabhakar Rao and Director of Foreign Universities and Alumni Relations P Uday Bhaskar have reached formal understanding with foreign universities during their recent visit to the TANA Conference. Pittsburgh University, California University and Central Michigan University are some of the institutions of higher learning that responded positively to the proposals made by the JNTU-K's two-member delegation during their visit abroad.

Prof. Prabhakar Rao and Prof. Uday Bhaskar have even made presentations in the World Congress in computer science and engineering held at Las Vegas in the US earlier this month. The duo met the Vice-Chancellor Allam Appa Rao on Sunday and apprised him of the impression created by JNTU-K among foreign universities.

On the occasion, Prof. Rao has said that the number of initiatives taken by JNTU-K to make mutually beneficial engagements with foreign universities was a proof of his commitment to transform the university into one of the world's best and exuded confidence that the results would emerge sooner than later.
