Collector suspends teacher for 'negligence'

Collector Sandeep Kumar Sultania has instructed District Education Officer N. Rameshwara Raju to suspend Mandal Parishad Primary School teacher Rajashekhar for poor attendance of students in the school on Friday.

The Collector made a surprise visit to the school in Chintagutta village of Shankarpatnam mandal and found only 10 students out of a total 24 students. When he inquired, the teacher Rajashekhar informed that majority of students were suffering from fever and did not turn up to the school.

Finding fault with the teacher for not showing interest in the attendance of all the students, the Collector instructed the DEO to suspend the teacher immediately.

Earlier, the Collector inspected Indiramma housing scheme implementation in Shankarapatnam, Huzurabad and Elkathurthy mandals. He expressed anger over the delay in the construction of houses in spite of sanctioning them a year ago.

He also interacted with the beneficiaries. Housing Special Officer A. Srinivas, Karimnagar RDO S. Dayanand, ZPTC members Srinivas and Vijaya Reddy and others were also present.
