Gemstone skill development

The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) – Development Institute, Guindy, Chennai, will conduct a skill development programme on 'gemstone grading and identifications' at the New Colony, II Street, Mannapuram, Tiruchi-20 from July 20 – 31.
Objective

The main objective of this programme is to impart theoretical and practical knowledge in grading, testing and appraisal of gem stone (both the rough and polished) by various techniques, create awareness on gemstone trade and to educate the participants on the scope of gemstones grading as a career opportunity.

A press release of the Director, MSME – Development Institute, issued here on Tuesday said that no basic qualification was needed to join the course which will feature practical sessions.

At the end of the programme, successful candidates will be awarded Government of India certificates.

Fifty per cent fee concessions will be given to SC and ST candidates.
