Special vehicles check conducted

The Transport Department conducted a special check in Poonamallee and Puzhal recently. Joint Transport Commissioner T. Gunasekaran, along with enforcement officials, checked various vehicles. Five goods vehicles were detained for overloading and lack of records.

Over 75 vehicles, from Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, were issued check reports and compounding fee to the tune of nearly Rs.91,000 was collected for irregularities. Tax amount of Rs.1.4 lakh was also collected.
