Anna University summons engineering college Principal

CHENNAI: The Principal of Madha Engineering College, near the city, has been summoned on Monday by Anna University, following complaints by students about the faculty and infrastructure in the college, P. Mannar Jawahar, Vice-Chancellor, Anna University, Chennai, said on Sunday.

Dr. Jawahar said a group of students from the college came to him on Saturday afternoon complaining about excess fees collected by the institution. He pointed out that they could call 044-28440961 to lodge complaints and asked them if they had specific complaints relating to faculty and infrastructure.

When they complained about these issues, he called up the Principal and sought an explanation. He summoned the Principal to his office on Monday. Dr. Jawahar said action would be taken if the college had failed to meet faculty or infrastructure requirements.

Dr. Jawahar added that the college students had complained about some minor issues relating to faculty two months ago. He gave directions to the Principal, which had been complied with.
