The Palakkad Management Association (PMA) has said that a study centre of the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) will start functioning here with the MBA batch commencing from August 2009.

The eligibility for admission to the programme, which is recognised all over India, is graduation with 50 per cent marks in aggregate (for reserved category, 45 per cent). Candidates who have work experience will need less percentage of mark depending on the number of years of experience, the PMA release said.

For the batch commencing in August 2009 the last date for receiving application for the entrance test is July 14, 2009. For those selected from the entrance test, contact classes will be held in the Palakkad study centre on Sundays and holidays. IGNOU will provide printed study material in each subject.

Application form can be downloaded from www.ignou.ac.in and the filled in application should be forwarded with a demand draft for Rs.500 drawn in favour of IGNOU, payable at Delhi.
