Lectures to mark parishat's anniversary

GULBARGA: The Gulbarga district unit of the Kannada Vaidya Sahitya Parishat will be celebrating its 10th anniversary here on June 28 by organising special lectures on "Medical profession at crossroads" and "Assault on doctors and law."

President of the parishat Shivaraj Alshetty and secretary S.S. Hiremath told presspersons here on Wednesday that the celebrations would be inaugurated at the Mahadevappa Rampure Medical College by Shashil G. Namoshi, MLC.

Mr. Hiremath said that the former president of the Indian Medical Association G.K. Ramachandrappa would deliver a lecture on the "Medical profession at crossroads" and P.N. Govindarajulu, who was instrumental in bringing a legislation against attacks on doctors in the State, would speak on "Assault on doctors and law".

Exhibition

As part of the celebrations, an exhibition-cum-sale of Kannada books on medicine and health issues will be organised in the medical college.
