Infant Jesus College Of Engineering, a college under the management of Infant Jesus Educational Trust a charitable Christian minority Trust based in Chennai. The Chairman and other Trustees are highly educated and having rich experience in the field of education.

The Trust has identified Thoothukudi District, one of the economically backward districts in Tamil Nadu as an ideal location because of the Social Commitment to uplift deserving needy through imparting quality technical education.

Despite its option for the Christian minority students, the students belonging to other religions are also targeted to benefit from this noble venture.

Electronic Circuit Lab: The electronic lab has sophisticated circuit Boards, CROs and equipments required for the microwave experiments. Apart from these labs, the college has a well equipped Electrical Engineering Lab and Mechanical Engineering Lab.

Library: The college has a Well-furnished library equipped with Books pertaining to the latest Anna University syllabus. The library is fully computerized which enables the students and staff to avail any book in the library without any difficulty at any time. The library also has important dailies, National and international journals.

Faculty: All the Faculty members are selected by the duly constituted staff selection committee comprising subject experts drawn from various reputed colleges and Anna University. Various modern techniques are adopted in the process of staff selection. The staff members are given periodicals professional orientation and guidance. The performance of the staff members is periodically assessed. They are given opportunities to explain their difficulties in the periodical staff meetings and proper solutions are suggested by the Principal and the Directors.

Sports and Games: The College has facilities for Gymnasium, Indoor Games and Athletics. The police shooting range which is adjacent to the college campus has offered facilities like Swimming and Shooting practice for our students.
At ijcet you can take advantage of the opportunities that the college provides to help gain the type of skills that employers look for in graduates - employability skills. These include effective communication, analytical skills, IT competence and team working.

Health Care: Part - time Medical Officers comprising a Female and Male Doctor visit the college at specified time and offer Medicals consultations to the needy students. Further the college has tie-up with a leading multi specialty hospital at Tirunelvelli for providing utmost care to the Hostlers.

Co-Curricular Activities: Students of ijcet are encouraged to participate in co-curricular activities like NSS and NCC for their comprehensive development. The NCC unit of ijcet stands as one of the best units in South India.

Counselling: Special counsellors holding Master Degree in Psychology are invited periodically to counsel the students of ijcet. Precise solutions for specific problems of the students are given be these counsellors.

Taking into account the importance of placing the students at Multinational Companies, the management of IJCET has established an exclusive cell to train them in aptitude, attitude, Group Discussion and presentation at personal interviews. Resource Personnel from different fields are invited periodically to update the students in their respective branch. These trainings are imparted right from the first year so that they could face interviews with confidence during the final year of their studies.
