IIM-A to introduce courses on recession

In an attempt to equip its students with all that's needed before they go out into the recession hiyt world, the indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-A) is all set to introduce elective courses by Jul 2009 that deal how to handle economical meltdown or a financial crisis.

"Regarding the persisting economic position, we had specially planned the programme of strategic cost management on how to cut the costs," Mr BH Jajoo, Dean of IIM-A, said.

These courses will be featured in the Post Graduate Programme (PGP) and through Management Development Programmes (MDPs).

Intially, a 4-day course will be offered by IIM-A in strategic cost-management in the Jul 2009. Speaking on this, IIM-A Director, Mr Samir Barua said "The strategic cost management is the first course within such courses."
