Polytechnic students boycott classes

Tuticorin: The students of a private polytechnic college at Mudivaithanenthal near Vagaikulam boycotted their classes and submitted a petition to Collector on Thursday. They alleged of Rs.5, 000 was collected by the management as an excess tuition fee suddenly without any notification. A proper reply was not given by the Principal when they approached the office on the issue.

They said there was lack of adequate facilities in the college. The laboratories were ill-equipped. They also said the administration charged between Rs.2, 000 and Rs.3,000 from every student for obtaining course completion certificates from the office.
