23 students selected for HDFC interview

GUNTUR: Hyderabad-based Manipal Academy has shortlisted 23 Jawahar Knowledge Centre trained students from Guntur district for final Human Resources interview for appointment in HDFC Standard Life Insurance as Sales Development Managers.

At a two-stage recruitment drive organised by the agency under the guidance of H. Satish at Government Women's College in Guntur on Thursday, 54 students were invited for the selections. Women's College Principal N. Geethanjali said there were 13 JKCs in the district and students from all of them were selected providing them an opportunity to get appointed with a pay packet of Rs.15,000 to Rs.22,000.

During the economic recession, the only sector that was offering some kind of jobs was insurance. Basing on the performance of group discussion skills some students were called for written test on the spot.. Students of B.Com, M.Com, MBA and other faculties were present at the selection process, the JKC Centre coordinator L. Sasibala said.

In all 23 students were shortlisted after written test for the final round at Hyderabad or Visakhapatnam. Meanwhile, the company would conduct a similar selection process in Vijayawada for JKC-trained students from Krishna, Khammam and West Godavari districts on Friday.

The JKC Coordinator has requested the company to conduct the final HR round also either at Vijayawada or Guntur for all finalists from Guntur and Vijayawada exercise.
