Andhra University NSS volunteer for China

VISAKHAPATNAM: B. Bhavya Bharati, doing II B.Sc. at Sri Gowri Degree and PG College has earned the distinction of being the first NSS volunteer from Andhra University to get selected for an international youth exchange programme. She has been selected for an international youth exchange programme to be held in China from June 11 to 25. "Ms. Bhavya Bharati is also the only NSS volunteer from AP to get selected for the international youth exchange programme and in the 40-year-old history of AU NSS, she is the first to get selected for such an international programme and this is highly appreciable," Vice-Chancellor B. Satyanarayana said while congratulating Ms. Bhavya Bharati.

One hundred youths from the NSS, NCC, sports, games and youth award winners have been selected for the China tour and out of the 32.57 lakh NSS volunteers in the country only 20 have been selected for the Indian team, Programme Coordinator of Andhra University NSS P. Ramachandra Rao said.

Ms. Bhavya Bharati has been selected through a series of camps due to her talent and hard work.

She has also performed classical dance and folk dance at different places.

Prof. Ramachandra Rao congratulated Ms. Bhavya Bharati, her parents Sankara Rao and Neelavathi, dance guru Anand Sai Kumar, Programme Officers Srinivasa Rao and Nageswara Rao and Principal P. Narasimha Rao.

Rector B. Parvateeswara Rao, Registrar P.V.G.D. Prasada Reddy, District NSS Programme Officer Narasimha Murthy and others congratulated the student.

Cultural programmes, group discussions, review of youth welfare services, etc., will be part of the international youth exchange programme.
