Training programme on NREGS for officials

PERAMBALUR: Collector M. Vijayakumar has instructed district officials to give priority for development works under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS).

Inaugurating a training programme on NREGS for block development officers, union engineers, supervisors and road inspectors here on Tuesday, Mr. Vijayakumar said works such as renovation of water sources, desilting of channels and road improvements could be taken up under the scheme.

Guidelines
He told the officials to strictly follow the guidelines for the scheme. M. Gunasekaran, Assistant Director, State Rural Development Training Institute, will be resource person of the training programme.
