School sanctioned

Karwar: The Government has sanctioned Kittur Chennamma Girls residential school to Bhatkal to increase the literacy rate among the girls belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes communities. The school will be functional from the 2009-10 academic year. The school will have classes from 6th to 12th standard and the government has sanctioned funds for the construction of the school and hostel buildings.

The Social Welfare Department has been asked to identify the land of 5 to 10 acres to build the school and hostel.
