Theme-based photography workshop this month

BANGALORE: Canon brings its second monthly workshop of its kind for all photo-enthusiasts in three cities — Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore — on May 23. Teaching beginners key digital photography concepts with the Digital-SLR (DSLR) camera, the workshops will focus on one theme in every city, and those attending the workshop this month in the city will gain insight on shooting weddings and events. This workshop is planned as one of the series of theme-based workshops.

A space for 25 students is available in the Canon Image Lounge on Brigade Road. The institute that Canon has tied up with for the workshops is the National Institute of Creative Communication or the NICC, which is an authorised Canon Pro teaching centre.

The three-hour workshop, between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., will be handled by professionals from the field.

A coordinator at the Canon Lounge, Smita, says that going by last month's feedback, the workshop is expected to see a considerable number of applicants this time around as well.

"We had to do a repeat workshop last month, to accommodate the students that we could not in the first round," she says.

While it is not a requirement that applicants of the workshop own a DSLR camera, Ms. Smita says that since the programme will be making use of a DSLR, immediate application would be possible on a DSLR.

The fee for the workshop is Rs. 1,000 and Rs. 750 for Canon Edge members. The last day for registration is May 14.
