BCECE Exam

Bihar CET, the common entrance test in the state, is conducted by Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board for holding admissions in Engineering, Medical and Agricultural courses. The examination, BCECE or Bihar CET, was initiated by the State Government of Bihar in accordance with Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Act 1995.

Eligibility
The candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics or Biology. Candidates who have appeared in the finals of the qualifying exam are also eligible. For engineering stream, there is no minimum age limit. For medical stream and agricultural stream the minimum age of the candidate must be 17 years. In case of the SC/ST candidate there is a relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit.
Examination Pattern
Bihar CET test paper comprises of three papers of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Candidates appear in the examination in two groups, according to their preferred field, with a different combination of subjects. The PCM group is a combination of the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics along with Biology while the PCB group is a combination of the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology along with Mathematics.

Reservation of seats for the candidates is in accordance with the government rules. Reservation norms are SC - 14%, ST - 10%, BC -10% and 1% for the children of the armed personnel. For the diploma holders in Engineering, two seats are reserved in the colleges of Sindri, Muzaffarpur, Patna and Bhagalpur. Seats are also reserved for Central Government nominees and for candidates belonging to States/Union Territories without engineering colleges.

A percentage of seats are under domicile restrictions. Only those candidates who are the permanent residents of Bihar or whose parents are employed with Tata Iron & Steel Company are eligible to seek admission in Bihar Institute of Technology (BIT), Sindri.
Syllabus
The candidates under the PCM group have to prepare for the subjects like   Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics along with Biology and those under the PCB group have to do preparations for Physics, Chemistry and Biology along with Mathematics. The standard of the entrance exam is that of intermediate level and the medium is English.
