Central Police Force Examination Eligibility

Nationality

    * A candidate must be a citizen of India.
    * A candidates who is not a citizen of India can only be appointed if he/she has a consent of the Central Government signified in writing.

Sex

Male candidates are eligible for appointments in all the five Police Force (BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, and SSB), whereas the women cadidates are eligible for CRPF and CISF only.

Age Limits

A candidate must have attained the age of 20 years and must not have attained the age of 25 years on 1st  August, 2007, that is, the candidate must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1982 and not later than 1st August 1987.

The upper age limit prescribed above will be relaxable in the follwing cases:

    * Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe: upto a maximum of five years.
    * Other Backward Classes: upto a maximum of three years.
    * State of Jammu & Kashmir (Domiciled during the period from the 1st January, 1980 to 31st December, 1989: upto a maximum of five years.
    * Ex-servicemen: upto a maximum of five years.
    * Central Government Servants: upto a maximum of five years.

NOTE I:

Cumulative Age relaxation:

Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes and the Other Backward Classes who are also covered under other clauses mentioned above will be eligible for grant of cumulative age-relaxation under both the categories.

NOTE II:

Date of Birth Certificate:

The date of birth accepted by the Commission is that entered in the Matriculation or Secondary School Leaving Certificate or in a certificate recognised by an Indian University as equivalent to Matriculation or in an extract from a Register of Matriculates maintained by a University, which extract must be certified by the proper authority of the University or in the Higher Secondary or an equivalent examination certificate.

No other document relating to age like horoscopes, affidavits, birth extracts from Municipal Corporation, service records and the like will be accepted.

Once the date of birth is recorded in the Commission, no change will be allowed subsequently (or at any other Examination of the Commission) on any grounds whatsoever.

Educational Qualifications:

The candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree of a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or posses an equivalent qualification.

Physical Standards:

Candidates must meet the prescribed Physical and Medical Standards for admission to Central Police Forces Examination (Assistant Commandants), 2007. The details are specified in the Sceme of Examination section.

NOTE:

Restriction on reappearance of candidates finally selected/ recommended earlier:

A candidate who has been finally selected on the basis of an earlier examination to the post of Assistant Commandants in any of the forces participating in the Central Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination will not be eligible to appear at a subsequent examination for recruitment of Assistant Commandants in the participating CPFs.

Possession of NCC 'B' or'C' Certificates:

Possession of NCC 'B' or 'C' Certificate will be a desirable qualification. These qualifications will be given consideration at the time of Interview/ Personality Test only.

UPSC takes the examination of the most elite services of India like IAS,IPS,IES,CAPF and NDA.

An examination will be conducted by the Union Public Service Commission on 19th August, 2012 for admission to the Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the NDA for the 130th course, and for the 92nd Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC) commencing from July, 2013
The candidates Joining Indian Naval Academy would undergo 4 years B.Tech course and would be given an opportunity to join Executive and Technical Branches of the Navy subject to availability of vacancies
The approximate number of vacancies to be filled on the results of this examination will be 355 (195 for the Army, 39 for Navy, 66 for the Air Force and 55 for Indian Naval Academy (10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme)
Vacancies are provisional and may be changed depending on the availability of training capacity of National Defence Academy
Conditions of eligibility

Nationality: A candidate must either be (i) a citizen of India, or (ii) a subject of Bhutan, or (iii) a subject of Nepal, or (iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or (v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Govt of India. Certificate of eligibility will not, however, be necessary in the case of candidates who are Gorkha subjects of Nepal
Age Limits, Sex and Marital Status: Only unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 02nd July, 1994 and not later than 01st January, 1997 are eligible
Those candidates who have yet to qualify in the 12th class or equivalent examination and are allowed to appear in the UPSC examination should note that this is only a special concession given to them
They are required to submit proof of passing the 12th class or equivalent examination by the prescribed date (11th June, 2013) and no request for extending this date will be entertained on the grounds of late conduct of Board/University examination, delay in declaration of results or any other ground whatsoever
