A New Phishing Scam Comes To Facebook

Facebook is hit by yet another phishing scam as figures reveal it was the seventh most popular phishing target in March.
Yes, there's yet another phishing scam on Facebook, arriving just as new figures reveal that the social networking site was the seventh most popular phishing target in March, after PayPal, eBay, and some banks.

The new scam comes with a message and a link to a site that looks very much like Facebook, but is in fact either fbstarter.com or fbaction.net. The user's name and password are recorded, meaning the scammer can sign into Facebook as the user at any time.

From there the hackers can send out links to malware to the user's Facebook friends that can take control of computers or even harvest personal details.

Facebook has said it has blocked fbaction, removing messages relating to its content, and resetting passwords of those who've been hit, according to the Guardian.
