Aussies regain second spot in ICC rankings

Dubai: Australia climbed one step in the ladder to replace India as the number two ODI side in the ICC ranking released on Monday.

Meanwhile, South Africa retained their numero uno status.

Australia, with 123 points in their kitty, toppled India, who figures third in the ladder now with one point less, thanks to a victory against South Africa in Johannesburg last Friday.

But, Michael Clarke's brigade can return to the top of the table with a 5-0 whitewash of Pakistan in the ODI series commencing Wednesday, while the same margin for Pakistan would take it to third and drop Australia to fourth.

India enjoyed the second spot for a brief period after clinching the five-ODI series against fourth-placed New Zealand in latter's own backyard.

Cricket-starved Pakistan comes fifth followed by England, Sri Lanka and the West Indies.
