Karunya University has launched a software testing finishing school programme to impart practical software testing. The four-week programme will be held in May-June during the summer vacation.

According to V. Saravanan, Head, Department of Computer Applications of the university, the certificate programme is aimed at addressing the shortage of trained and certified software testing professionals. The course is recommended for pre-final and final-year students from the engineering and science streams.

The programme will be based on the 'Pragmatic Action Learning Methodology' to enable action-oriented learning. It will also equip students with practical testing skills besides providing them in-depth knowledge on overall testing process. Students, who have completed the programme, can appear for the Certified Associate in Software Testing certification exam, conducted by QAI Global Foundation, and other Test Automation Tool certifications.

On completion of the programme, students will get an industry-recognised certificate in Practical Software Testing. Those interested can contact the training and placement officer of the university for details.
