Admission to M.Sc.and M.Phil. Degree Programmes

Applications are invited for admission to M.Sc. (2 years) and M.Phil. Degree Programmes offered in the University Departments of Anna University Chennai, Chennai 25 for the academic year 2009-2010

I) M.Sc. (2 years) Degree Programmes

1.M.Sc. Applied Mathematics
2.M.Sc. Materials Science/Medical Physics
3.M.Sc. Applied Chemistry
4.M.Sc. Applied Geology *
5.M.Sc. Science and Technology Communication (SS)*
(Stipend at the rate of Rs.1,000/- per month for candidates admitted to M.Sc. Science and Technology Communication programme)
6.M.Sc. Electronic Media (2/3 years) (SS)
7.M.Sc.Economics/Financial Economics (SS)

Application forms can be obtained in the following modes:

(i) In Person:

From the Examination Centre, Anna University Chennai, Chennai 600025, on payment by Demand Draft for Rs.600/- (Rs.300/- for SC/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu on production of a copy of Permanent Community Certificate)

(ii) By Downloading from the Website:

The Application Form and Information Booklet can also be downloaded from the website: www.annauniv.edu/msc2009. The filledin Application should be sent along with documents and D.D. for Rs.600/- (Rs.300/- for SC/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu) towards registration fee.

(iii) By Post:

By sending a Demand Draft for Rs.650/- (Rs.350/- for SC/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu with a copy of Community Certificate) which includes postal expenses, along with a requisition letter and a self address slip, to The Director (Admissions), Anna University Chennai, Chennai – 600 025.

II) M.Phil. Degree Programmes:

M.Phil. Mathematics
M.Phil. Crystal Science
M.Phil. Applied Geology
M.Phil. Physics

M.Phil. English

Application Form together with information and Instructions to candidates can be downloaded from the Anna University Chennai website:

http//www.annauniv.edu/mphil2009. The candidates shall send the filled in application sent along with required enclosures and demand draft for Rs.600/- for General category (Rs.300/- for SC/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu have to enclose a Permanent Community Certificate)

All the Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of 'The Director (Admissions), Anna University Chennai, payable at Chennai and should be obtained from any nationalised bank on or after 5.04.2009.
