Singapore visas now available within 24 hours

Chennai March 2009: The Singapore Tourism Board is heartened by the launch of e-visas across India, which will be introduced shortly across the country. This initiative, aimed at enhancing the processing of visa applications will commence on 1st April 2009.

E-visas are designed to enable trusted partners, including visa service providers across India, to submit online, visas on behalf of their customers and print the approved visas through the SAVE (Submission of Applications for Visa Electronically) system. Trusted partners will no longer need to make a trip to the consular offices to submit documents for visas. Neither, will they need to make a trip for visa collection, as approvals will be given online. The approved e-visa must be printed out to be produced at the Airline Counter before the point of departure.

Commenting on the e-visa initiative, Mr. Randall Tall, Regional Director, South Asia, Middle East and Africa, Singapore Tourism Board said, "We are very excited about the e-visa initiative, as it is an extremely progressive step and showcases Singapore's technological advancement. We have always provided for the needs of Indian travellers to Singapore and are constantly looking for ways of improving our services to the Indian community. We believe that business and leisure travellers will undoubtedly gain from this initiative and appreciate the fast turn-around time. Singapore has always been the top outbound destination from India and we are optimistic of maintaining this position through the launch of measures like the e-visa"

E-visas is another initiative, which has sprung from the requirements of top markets like India and facilitation of such services will only strengthen Singapore's position as an easily accessible destination for Indians, giving credence to Singapore's strategy of constantly re-inventing and improving itself to attract international travellers.
