TomTom GO 920

TomTom have been churning out mega-mappers this year and their latest number the GO 920 doesn't disappoint. Tipped to be the flagship model for 2008 it's packed full of devilish features.

Stylishly clad in a brand spanking new metallic cover the 920 is a breeze to use. The screen is intuitive and responds well thanks to a super fast touch screen. If you find the woman's voice annoying, no worries scrap her and opt for Darth Vader, whose voice proves strangely alluring driving along country lanes. May the force be with you as you turn left after the cattle grid.

Battery life is epic and you can charge it at your PC if you can't bear to be away from the little tyke. TomTom's Mapshare thrown lets the rest of the nation know that there's a fallen hedge in West Grimsby.

As well as telling us where to go this show off does it with some pizzaz. "Enhanced Position Technology" calculates your position when the GPS signals suck out. No more "calibrating' on this bad boy.

This little fourth emergency service also helps you out if you get in a spot of bother. With the Help me feature you can pin point a phone, drive, or even get off your rear and walk for help. Gasp. The 920 will even give you a crash course in First Aid-sat nav style.

Enough heroics, this satnav is packed with more features than the latest T3 issue (c'mon!). Hands free calling, TomTom Home, points-of-interest and traffic information. We managed to find four petrol stations and dodged traffic within a mile radius during our gumball rally through the Big Smoke.
