Diploma Course on Watershed Management to be started by IGNOU

The new diploma course on Watershed Management is to be started by the Indira Gandhi National Open University. For this, IGNOU has received Rs.2 crore as grant from the Department of Land Resources, Ministry of Rural Development. This project is said to have a bright future and help lots of students in the long run. This diploma course has better prospects, which was taken care by the Indira Gandhi National Open University.

It is for the first time in the country that such a prospective course will be initiated by IGNOU's School of Agriculture (SOA). The watershed management can be of great help in an agricultural country like India. This study program aims toward the betterment of the agricultural resource of the country.

For the enrolment in the course of Watershed Management in Indira Gandhi National Open University, one should be a pass out from school (class X) or should pursue degree in Bachelor in Participatory Programme (BPP). The eligibility criteria are decided by the board of the institution. IGNOU has set study programs, which will help the students in the long run and is beneficial for the implication for the imparted education.

The programme of Watershed Management is initiated to give emphasis on the various processes for the development of the watershed covers of the country. It also focuses on how to conserve water and the finely tuning of techniques to grow more crops. The agricultural industry will be highly developed owing to the implication of the Watershed Management study.
