Plus Two practicals to be held in two phases

TIRUCHI: The School Education Department in the district is all set to conduct Plus Two practical examinations in two phases from February 9 to 20. The first phase will be up to February 13 and the next will commence on February 14.

At a meeting of headmasters of higher secondary schools convened at the E.R. Higher Secondary School on Friday for distribution of nominal rolls and orientation on work allotment, the Joint Director – Examinations, Uma; and the Chief Educational Officer K. Swaminathan briefed the headmasters on practical and theory examinations. The practical examinations will be conducted in a total of 127 centres in the district, Mr. Swaminathan said.

The officials informed the headmasters on the mode of utilisation of the 15 minutes of additional time provided this year for the conduct of the theory examination of three-hour duration. The question papers will be distributed at 10.00 a.m. and the answer sheets will be provided ten minutes later. The next five minutes is meant for filling up the particulars. Three full hours will be provided for writing the examinations from 10.15 a.m. onwards. Five additional minutes have been provided this year compared to last year.

Cheques were also handed over to headmasters to facilitate them to make spot payments to external examiners of the practical examination, during the meeting.

About 160 headmasters of government, government-aided matriculation and higher secondary schools attended the meeting.
