Corporate training

In today's competitive world, corporate training is undertaken by many medium to large-sized companies. the reasons, they say, to hone their employees in various areas such as management skills, time management and even personal grooming. Continuous learning and development is crucial to the growth of an organisation.

Research indicates that employees no longer look at compensation and benefits alone. Learning initiatives that help them reach their goal makes a huge difference as well.

"Most companies undertake corporate training because the skilling, re-skilling and up-skilling of employees is their primary concern ," says Navyug Mohnot, CEO, QAI, a consulting organisation.

The need of the hour

So why the need to undergo training? "Training is critical with a constantly evolving industry and new paradigms. It helps companies to be at par with the changes that occur at the industry level," adds Mohnot.

Attrition is another important reason why companies train their employees. With new employees taking over roles, it becomes important to ramp them up.

Training also helps companies to deal with changes with respect to evolving businesses.

Moulding the right way

In view of the above, different companies use different training modules to train their staff. Crestcom India, a management skills training body helps management level executives achieve their best under their 'Bullet Proof Manager' curriculum.

"Bullet proof manager is a well-designed management training programme . It equips a manager with skills to empower his/her team, conduct day-to-day management, solve problems and delegate work as well as motivate the entire team to deliver," affirms Naresh Purushottam, director , Crestcom India.

Corporates, no doubt, have benefited from the training in a big way. Says Rakesh Rajora, who works with Cognizant Technology Solutions , "Thanks to the personal passion and business insights, the bullet proof manager module became relevant in terms of learning and application. The facilitator challenged the team at the end of it all."

Industry requirements

Similarly, Nuveda's e-learning programmes are very interactive unlike most e-learning programmes. The communication suite launched recently by them is a highly interactive learning experience that integrates elements of audio, video, and blends it into a brilliant learning experience.

"We have already trained over 80,000 IT professionals in the areas of Software Quality Management, Software Project Management, Innovation Management, Software Testing, IT Infrastructure Library, Software Estimations , Software Inspections, ISO 9000, Walkthroughs and Reviews, etc. These classroom training modules are typically three or five-day programs which provide training in a host of topics," says Mohnot. Whatever the route, corporate training remains the need of the hour. Through training, corporates can overcome all kinds of problems . They remain up- to-date with the current developments. They are in sync with the requirements of the industry.

Training acts as a medium for rewards and incentive. And last but not the least, it up-skills employees for their personal and professional growth.
