What's New in Windows Live Agents SDK

Windows Live Agents SDK takes all the great features of the Colloquis SDK, which operated in a Java environment, and integrates them into a Visual Studio IDE plug-in.

The SDK includes the Windows Live Agents IDE and a Developer's Edition of the browser-based Management Console.

The Windows Live Agents IDE enables both new and experienced developers to quickly get up to speed and begin using the full-featured tool set for developing and testing interactive agents.

Features of the IDE include:

    * A graphical user interface for managing projects and files
    * A document editor with syntax coloring and inline browsing
    * Tools for testing and debugging agents
    * Tools for launching agents on messaging services.

The Management Console enables developers to fully test the knowledge database capabilities, such as creating, editing, or deleting agent topics and responses before approving and publishing their agent as a live agent on the deployment server. The console also enables users to log and manage development tasks and receive messages related to those tasks.

Agents can be deployed in the Microsoft Hosted Environment or can be Self-Hosted by a client who manages all aspects of the knowledge database with the client's own Knowledge Management Server (KMS) and Deployment Server (DS).

Features of the Management Console include:

    * A browser-based graphical user interface for managing topics and responses
    * Server management tools for setting server and agent configurations
    * Monitoring and controlling interface to easily stop and start agents, and to visually inspect the health of an agent
    * Tracking data and usage reports
