Mumbai, Jan 21: The Technology festival of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) here this year will showcase several breakthroughs in Science and Technology including the most sought after environmental sciences, for the benefit of young innovative minds.

Some of the exhibits of the three-day 'Techfest-2009' beginning on January 24 will include Nissan technology and Design Square and 'Aircraft' display of working of this machine and scaled down models.

It will also feature exhibits from Royal Science Society (UK), Arizona State University's Mars Rover Project, Wired Nextfest and the Indian Armed Forces (DRDO). From all the way from Pennsylvania, USA comes the Self-Reassembly Robot called the 'CK Bot', which can assemble itself after being exploded by a high-energy event.

"The same robot is able to undulate like a snake or, if split in half, to scoot like an inchworm," said the techfest organisers. Energy and Ecology are the new mothers of invention-PEIR, the Personal Environmental Impact Report, which is a new kind of online tool that allows you to use your mobile phone to explore and share what impact you have on the environment and what impact the environment has on you--will also be on display.

A Sollektor collects direct solar light and transports this light 'WITHOUT HEAT' to rooms in the interior of buildings. Another interesting exhibit is going to be the need of the hour, 'securely secured' security systems such as QuadFlipper Security Robot Platform, latest bi-pedal robot and Face detection software for interactive robots.
