Final Fantasy Fans Will Have To Wait For The New Release

United States and UK fans of the Final Fantasy game will have to wait quite a while before playing Final Fantasy XIII, as Square Enix, its maker, announced that the release has been scheduled for April 2010.

The company’s president Yoichi Wada explained that the overseas release might be delayed even more, but for now its probably too soon to tell. He added that the Japan release is still going to happen in 2009. Even though the game will be released as a PS3 - exclusive in Japan, the plan for the West is to simultaneously release it on the PS3 and also on the Xbox 360.

At this point, in the JRPG segment, there really aren’t many upcoming releases that gamers could get excited about, which means that the only thing to do is to wait for the release, filling the time with the previous versions and the trailers and photos of the new one.

Final Fantasy is unquestionable one of the biggest hits ever in the console market. So far, it managed to sell a total of 85 million units, with several spin-offs and also a feature-lenght movie, all recording massive successes.

Square Enix’s officials are not at all concerned about this year’s figures, as even though Final Fantasy  XIII won’t be available worldwide, the company prepared the release of several titles which include Chrono Tiger, Dragon Quest IV and Final Fantasy VII prequel Crisis Core, all expected to bring in significant revenue for the company.
