The DevelopmentStorage tool (DevelopmentStorage.exe) launches development storage, a utility from which you can run the local storage services for Blob, Queue, and Table Storage.

The first time you run the DevelopmentStorage tool, it initializes the local environment if the initialization process has not already occurred. This initialization process requires administrative privileges.

You can use the DevelopmentStorage tool to display the status of the local Blob, Queue, and Table services, and to start, stop, and reset the services. You can also use the tool to configure the Table service to use an existing Microsoft® SQL Server™ Express database.
