TNPSC reaches out to college students

MADURAI: The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) is planning to conduct awareness programmes for students of various arts and science colleges on how they can make it to different State Government services.

College students will be counselled and motivated to appear for the TNPSC examinations and tips given on preparing for the tests conducted by the Commission. The student awareness exercise will be carried out in association with the Directorate of Collegiate Education.

For Madurai region, the awareness programmes were likely to be organised during the end of this month or early February, said C. Pandi, Regional Joint Director of Collegiate Education.

He said here on Thursday that a communication was received from Director of Collegiate Education Nalini Ravindran stating that a couple of colleges must be suggested to the TNPSC for holding the awareness programmes.

Accordingly, the officials of collegiate education had suggested four colleges — Yadava College, Madura College, Alagappa Government Arts College, Karaikudi, and a Tiruppathur college. Out of this, two colleges would be selected for the programme.

Students will be addressed by the TNPSC Chairman A. M. Kasiviswanathan during the sessions and he himself will explain starting from the procedure of applying for examinations to effective preparation for success, the Regional Joint Director said.
