College gets research centre status

KADAPA: Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, has recognised the Physics Department of Sri Venkateswara Degree College at Kadapa as a research centre and its physics lecturer B. Sudhakar Reddy as a research guide.

SVU Registrar Y. Venkatarami Reddy issued orders to this effect, Mr. Sudhakar Reddy said on Saturday. Research scholars can take up M. Phil. and Ph.D. under his supervision in the college, he said. The college has research facilities for manufacture of laser and optical fibre tools for use in the electronics and optical communication fields. Moreover, the college has seven lecturers having Ph.D. qualification and three of them, including him, were State-level best teacher awardees, Mr. Reddy said
