424 Airmen inducted into IAF

TAMBARAM: After a passing-out parade at the Indian Air Force Station in Tambaram on Friday morning, 424 Airmen were formally inducted into IAF. The trainees had undergone 36 weeks of trade training at the Mechanical and Workshop Training Institutes.

In his address after reviewing the parade, Air Commodore P. Kanakaraj, Commandant, Air Force Technical College, Bangalore, reminded the Airmen to imbibe and inculcate the 10 tenets of the Code of Air Warrior under all situations and at all times.

He said that the Indian Air Force had amply demonstrated time and again both during war and peace, the tradition of selfless service in the nation's defence. "Our nation with a sustained all round growth is emerging as one of the global powers in the world and to sustain this, high devotion and commitment from the Indian Air Force is vital," the officer said.

Air Commodore Kanakaraj also gave away trophies to the Airmen, including the best all rounder trophy to Rajesh Kumar, Propulsion Fitter trade of Mechanical Training Institute and B. Harish, Met Assistant of Workshop Training Institute. Air Commodore Ashok Lal, Air Officer Commanding, IAF Tambaram, was also present.
