Court bans talent tests in schools

KURNOOL: The Andhra Pradesh High Court banned conducting of talent tests in the State. Acting upon a writ filed by V. Janardhan Reddy, president of Andhra Pradesh Private Schools Managements Association, the High Court directed the government to restrict conducting of talent tests and posted the matter for further hearing on January 27.

The association pleaded with the High Court that corporate schools were conducting the talent tests to poach bright students.

The tests had nothing to do with promotion of talent among the students but only to enrol bright students.
