IAS Preparation 2013- IAS is a dream job for many of the aspirants who wants to serve for their country. Becoming an IAS officer requires preparation and hardwork of many months as a student has to go through a tough selection procedure consisting of written exam and interviews. Many aspirants face lots of confusion about the exact nature of questions that will be asked in IAS examination.

In this article, we will provide complete details on IAS and its preparation techniques including information on useful books and other study material along with some valuable tips on IAS preparation.

IAS Examination comprises of two successive stages:
1. Preliminary Examination, which is also known as CSAT (Civil services aptitude test) and consists of objective type questions. CSAT is also the qualifying examination for getting into Mains examination.
2. Main Examination: This stage consists of written examination followed by interview.
Both of the written exams are of 3 hours duration.

Tips for IAS Preparation

Aspirants should try to understand the demand of the examination and prepare accordingly keeping in mind the syllabus and time they have for preparation.

Have with you the mental advantage of reading a newspaper, but that too with the capability to leave out irrelevant news within seconds by just seeing the headline.
