‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ invited to Oscar library

Hard to digest?

Who could've expected this - it's just been a week that Shah Rukh's yet another romantic flick 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' released and attracted the attention of many.

And the unthinkable has happened - the film's script, which has more holes than a Swiss Cheese has been invited to the Oscar library.

Some folks may call it an unusual love story, but the amount of contrived cheese and the excessive ludicrous factor sort of make this little transaction hard to digest. Whatever the case, it didn't take long to grab the interest of the staff at the library.

Although the honour is not something new for the film's banner, but this time it has certainly happened a bit too fast that the Oscar library has made a request for the script to be a part of its permanent collection.

Reports reveal that the scripts in the collection reside at the Margaret Herrick Library and are made available to students, filmmakers, actors and writers for research purposes only. However, the screenplays may only be viewed in the library; they do not circulate. Also, no screenplay is allowed to be photocopied.

The invitation may give a bloodied nose to Aamir Khan, whose Taare Zameen Par was submitted for the Oscar's this year. One might think its screenplay might get an invite by the Oscar library. Maybe Shakuntala Devi pulled a few strings with the Oscar buffs... or maybe Shahrukh presented a few i10s to them.

Thanks and Regards
