The investigators looking into the recent terror strike in Mumbai claimed to have detected another Pakistani link into the incident.

According to media reports, the payment of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) connection used by terrorists was made from the port city of Karachi.

The Indian investigators, with the help of western investigating agencies including FBI and Scotland Yard, have found that the account was purchased on a fake identity card in Karachi, reported PTI, quoting official sources.

The payment of US$ 300 was reportedly routed through a prominent money transfer service.

The reports said the 10 terrorists who attacked Mumbai used the VoIP number brought from Orlando, Florida to communicate with their masters across the border, including Lashkar operative Zaki-ur-Rahman Lakhvi, who is believed to be the mastermind behind the Mumbai terror strikes that left 183 dead.

VoIP lets a person make and receive calls through computer via Internet.
