COIMBATORE: Kikani Matriculation Higher Secondary School recently received the International School Award.

In collaboration with the British Council, the school had implemented the international programme for the past year.

"The idea is to give an international dimension to the curriculum," says Geetha Raj, ISA Co-ordinator of the school. Students had to do activities year-round, which would be compiled and sent to the British Council.

More than 28 schools the country was undergoing the programme. The schools would have to establish contact with schools in other countries and interact with the students online.

"The programme helped in increasing global awareness of the children and accelerates their learning process," Ms. Geeta said.
