R.V.S. College of Arts & Science was the first self-financing college to be set up under the Bharathiar University. Established in 1986, it not only saved miles of trekking for the youth of Sulur region in search of higher education, but also provided a cost effective, and high quality educational addition to Coimbatore itself. Over the past 13 years it has grown to become the biggest self-financing college in terms of students strength, offering U.G.and P.G Courses.

The college aims at giving an all-round development with equal emphasis on co-curricular activities through associations to develop the talents and mental ability of the students.
