ARIYALUR: Primary level skill training will be provided through the Government Industrial Training Institutes in Ariyalur and Andimadam for those with a pass in V and VIII standards.There is no maximum age limit.In a communication on Monday, Collector R. Sudalaikannan said that the training under the aegis of the Central Government's Skill Development Initiative would be imparted between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. for durations ranging between 60 hours and 420 hours depending on the vocation.

To be evaluated: After the training, the candidates will be evaluated by government-approved agencies.Those who secure a pass will receive the National Certificate in Vocational Training and will also be entitled to reimbursement of the fee paid towards training and examination.Admissions will be based on the communal reservation system and special concessions will be provided for Adi Dravidar and Scheduled Tribe candidates, according to the communication.

Further details could be obtained from the principals of the nearest Industrial Training Institutes, it said.

Grievance redressalL: During the weekly public grievance redressal session, the Collector presented sewing machines free of cost to Kamala of Mannuli village and Gomathi of Sundakudi village on behalf of the Adi Dravidar and ST Welfare Department.Officials received 340 petitions pertaining to old age pension, handicapped assistance, marriage assistance, free house pattas, and educational loans.The petitions were forwarded to the departments concerned for speedy action.The Collector was accompanied by District Revenue Officer K. Pulamadan, Project Officer of District Rural Development Agency R. Venkatachalam, Revenue Divisional Officer Devarajan and other senior officials.
