IECD, NHIT start diploma and certificate programmes

The Institute for Entrepreneurship and Career Development(IECD), Bharathidasan University and the city-based Nineteen Hour Information Technology (NHIT) have jointly started four-diploma programmes and a certificate programme.

Talking to newspersons here last night, IECD Director K Parthasarathy and NHIT Director N Soundararaj said diploma programmes on BPO Management, Medical Coding and Transcription, Animation, and J2ME would be of six-month duration and a three-month duration for Certificate in Business English.

Mr Parthasarathy said leveraging the faculty and infrastructure of NHIT, based on its track-record in training and placing students, the university had approved the course content and would conduct examinations. The university would also evaluate the performance of students and issue certificates, he added.

V Suresh Kumar, General Manager, HR, NHIT said the programmes would be offered in the off-campus mode from November. Plus Two would be the minimum eligibility for the diploma programmes and age is not a barrier, he added.

The Certificate Programme in Business English, offered through the university for the first time, had been designed for executives already in jobs, he said, adding bank loans would be arranged for the needy.

Mr Kumar also assured immediate placements for those, who have completed their courses at NHIT.
