SANGAREDDY: Medak Collector Peeyush Kumar on Thursday directed the Social Welfare Department officials to ensure that students achieved 100 per cent results in the class X in all the SC, ST and BC Welfare hostels.Presiding over a review meeting, he said it was the responsibility of the officials to see that students achieve good marks and special classes should be held for them during the vacations.Social Welfare Department deputy director Jaya Prakash, BC Welfare Officer Balachander and Tribal Welfare Officer Chanchala Devi participated in the meeting.

The last date for submission of applications from minority students seeking pre-matric scholarship from the government was extended to till September 30. Those interested and studying between Class 6 to Class X can submit their applications to the District Minorities Welfare Officer, Shanti Nagar, Sangareddy before the deadline. The parents' annual income of such candidates should not cross Rs. 1 lakh, a release stated.
