NEW DELHI: Indira Gandhi National Open University will launch a diploma in mechanical engineering from the January 2009 session.

For admission, a candidate should have cleared his Class X exam with 55 per cent marks or with ITI certificate or a certificate in motorcycle service and repair of IGNOU.The candidate should be employed in a Central or State-level manufacturing industry or in public or private sector manufacturing industry or other related organisations employing similar manpower.

Application forms will be available from September 15 and the last date for submission of forms is October 30.
