ONGC Scholarships for SC/ST Students

The ONGC Scholarships for SC/ST students were instituted by the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited, an Indian public sector behemoth specializing in manufacture, drilling and supply of oil and natural gas. In a recent survey done by 'Global Finance' USA, ONGC has been nominated as the best oil and gas company in the continent of Asia. ONCG also tops the list of Indian corporate houses in terms of market capitalization in the Forbes 400 Global Corporates and Financial Times Global.
ONGC has taken path breaking initiatives in the field of community development, safety, health and environment. In the field of education, which forms an integral part of community development, the scholarships for higher education of students belonging to scheduled castes and scheduled tribes is one such initiative.

Eligibility Criteria for the ONGC Scholarships for SC/ST students:

The ONGC Scholarships for students belonging to the scheduled castes and scheduled tribes categories have the following criteria for eligibility:

    * Applicant should either be enrolled in the first year of a graduation course in engineering or post graduation course in Geology or Geophysics.
    * Applicant may also be holding a master's degree in business administration (MBA) and presently enrolled in any of the IIT's or an Indian university or institute of repute.
    * Applicant should not have an Overall Grade Point Average (OGPA) of less than 6 in a scale of 10. For students of Engineering, the evaluation is done for their performance in class 12 examination and for post graduation students in Geology or Geophysics or Business Administration the evaluation is done on the basis of their performance in graduation
    * The yearly income of the parents of these applicants should not be more than Rs. 1.5 lacs.

Application procedure for the ONGC Scholarships for SC/ST students:

Duly filled in applications bearing certification from the Head of the Institution should be forwarded through the office of the Head of the Institution to:

Along with the application form the applicants are also required to send:

    * A recent passport size photograph
    * Copy of Mark Sheet
    * Certificate substantiating that the applicant belongs to the Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe category
    * Certificate of income from appropriate authority
